The Majic Children's Fund is a non-profit, charitable organization licensed with the State of Florida's Division of Licensing, under the provisions of Chapter 496. The Fund was formed in late 1988 for the purpose of raising funds and services for distribution to South Florida charities that benefit children in need. Since its formation, the Majic Children's Fund has donated funds to these organizations:
- Kids Crusaders for Abused Children of Broward County
- The Children's Home Society
- The Muscular Dystrophy Association
- The Sheridan House for Boys and Girls
- The Easter Seals Society
- The March of Dimes MADD
- The Mars Foundation
- Hurricane Andrew Funds
- Kids In Distress
- The September 11th Fund
The Majic Children's Fund has also provided food, clothing, entertainment and other services to many additional organizations in South Florida. Fund raising activities have included on-air solicitations, live broadcasts and auctions from area malls and other locations. All donations as well as proceeds from the sale of Majic T-shirts and other items, benefit the Majic Children's Fund. Radio personality Rick Shaw is the Director for the Majic Children's Fund and has dedicated his personal time to reaching out into the community on behalf of Majic 102.7. His leadership and guidance has been an asset to the success of the Children's Fund.
