Spare Lives & Strike Out Cancer
The Relay for Life Deerfield Beach/ Lighthouse Point and Diamond Strikes Lanes are planning a bowling party to benifit the American Cancer Society. We'll have 20 lanes, with 6 on a lane, for 3 hrs. of bowling, shoes, pizza, wings, soda, and coupons for free bowling, for $150 per lane / $25 per person. We'll also have raffle baskets, 50/50, prizes, and fun games! The deadline for teams is July 23. We also have 2 Supporter Packages for Buisinesses. Packages #1 is for advertising at the event for $150 and Package #2 includes advertising and bowling for $250. The deadline for the Supporter Packages is July20. Walgreens Send A Kid to Camp program
Local Walgreens are selling Summer Camp Mobles to benitfit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) from August 1st to Labor Day, September 6th. Mobiles are $ 1 or $ 5 and have coupons for great Walgreens' brand products. All of the funds raised from the program will stay locally to assist local children and adults that have one of 43 types of neuromuscular diseases including Lou Gehrig's Diseases aka ALS.

1st Annual " Stop The Cycle" Motorcycle Poker Run
A life long resident of Margate, Florida, Mary's daughter Lar-Rel entered the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center and graduated to live a life free of substance abuse since 2007. Now Lar-Rel has children of her own. After years of thinking of ways that she could repay the center for giving her daughter back and bring awarness to all parents that this could happen to anyone, Mary decided to host a fundraiser involving her favorate past time. Many local businesses have stepped in to sponsor this event; Aquatic Vegetation Control (Riviera Beach), Payless Food Stores (Margate), and The Eatery (Margate). The poker run will start with breakfast and registration at Trattoria Bella Cibo. All riders will make five stops; Cafe Blue Fish ( FT Lauderdale), Bruce Rossmeyer's Sunrise Harley Davidson, Bru's Room (Coral Springs) and ending at Mugshots Bar & Grill of Margate, 1049 State Road 7. To add to the excitement, local bands, kids entertainment (exotic animal show, tie dye table, dunk tank, etc.), food vendors and a car show will all be participating. Learn Art of Basket Weaving- Make and Take
The Augest 18 program will be a hands on make it, take it workshop to learn the art of basic basket weaving. Members and guests will create a miniature basket with handle, appx. 2 inches in diameter, that can be used as a tree ornament or table favor. All supplies will be provied by Guild; however, each person is asked to bring a panfor soaking the reed, a towel, and a pair of scissors. There is no charge for the class but a donation would be appreciated. Reservations are required as space is limited. Two Year Old Battles with Neuroblastoma/ Fundraiser
Mia. A Caleca Miller is a happy two year old living in Miami, who lights up a room with her smile and loves spending time with her family, At first glance, someone might not know that this little girl is battling a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma. Through the efforts of her committed family, the community is coming together to help Mia through a funraising event. The event at Signature Gardens will raise funds for the increasingly expensive medical costs of Mia's hospitalization, chemotherapy, surgery and required medicines. During the Casino Night Fundraiser for Mia, guests will enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres, open bar, music and recieve funny money to New York Jets, will make a special appearance during the Casino Night Fundraiser in support of the cause. Fight For Air Climb Ft. Lauderdale
500 Participants will take part in this vertical 30 story race, which is professionally timed and ranked with start times every 15-30 seconds. Trophies are awarded in a variety of categories giving participants an opportunity to complete against the clock and conquer their quest to climb 539 steps ! The proceeds from this event go directly to research, education, and advocacy efforts that help to save lives, prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Many of our climbers are racing on behalf of someone with lung disease. $25.00 per person.
